While discussing on what to do for the animation, all of us were thinking of various ideas individually; so we could somehow narrow down what we should do after seeing what we have.
I decided to pitch a story about a ramen chef robot in a cyberpunk world, and how he cooks his ramen. So its more animation intensive rather than it having an actual story. I thought of it like those ghibli cooking scenes, or particularly, like the san xian mian scene in flavours of youth.
I also thought it would be interesting to give the cooking scene a twist, since this was a robot who was doing the cooking, not a human. So the chef would be cooking the ramen noodles in a unique way, which I thought would be fun to think of, and would give us much freedom to animate the sequence.
Since I was making the chef cook a dish with Chinese and Japanese orgins, the culture and environment would also have a mix of these cultures. The animation could show an area like Chinatown, with glowing red lanterns, and glaring neon signs like Tokyo. Food stalls would line a long narrow stretch of road, and the animation would centre around a ramen stall.
